Is it true that Nikola Tesla found a way to provide people with free energy…?

…but was stifled by the Capitalists?
@mevil – That’s poor reasoning.

Take any information on this subject with a grain of salt. I’ve been researching Tesla fairly heavily for over a decade, and not once have I found a reference from Tesla himself about “free energy”. One could conceivably contort his words about “using the wheelwork of nature to power our machines” as having to do with free energy, but vagueness abounds.

I read in Prodigal Genius about Tesla using giant UV lamps on top of his giant coil to ionize a path of air all the way to the stratosphere to tap that layer of atmosphere being bombarded by solar radiation, but the author even admits, these are his words and not Tesla’s. Tesla was known for being secretive.

So, did he do it? The information is subjective at best. Personally, I have my doubts. Tesla was a brilliant inventive engineer, so maybe he really did tap into a vast new source of energy, but it’s not likely. I think it’s worth investigation though.

    Yes, it is true. JP Morgan was the one who shot that idea down and destroyed Tesla in the process.
