Hojo Motor the stock gasoline engine had been removed and replaced with a brushless AC electric motor. The motor was said to have been powered by a “power receiver” consisting of a box measuring about 25 inches long by 10 inches wide by 6 inches high, containing 12 radio tubes and connected to a 6-foot long antenna.
The car was said to have been driven for about 50 miles at speeds of up to 90 mph during an 8-day period.

I think it’s rubbish. Tesla did demonstrate that 3 phase electric was possible where others said it wasn’t and it’s due to him that we have ac delivered to our homes, but aside from that i think he was a bit of a nutter.
He went on to make all sorts of claims including time machines etc but i think he was a bit of a dreamer. He insisted for example that radio waves ran through the earth and not the air, but he is demonstrably wrong.
The idea of ‘free’ energy from the air is supposed to work like this:
A radio station such as the BBC broadcasts …well radio programmes.
What happens is sound waves travel at um,, the speed of sound and don’t go very far where as radio waves which are high frequency and inaudible travel at the seed of light and can traavel long distances depending on their wavelength. So Sound is converted to low frequency electrical waves via a mic and amplifier then modulated onto a radio frequency carrier wave. When a distant radio receiver picks up this carrier wave, it rejects the carrier but permits the low frequency signal through where it is again amplified and turned back into sound.
So it was thought that it would be possible to ‘steal’ energy from say the BBC by using the rejected carrier wave as a power source.
That’s the theory and the most likely basis of teslas claims, but as i said it’s most likely nonsense.
I think at the time Tesla had a tower similar to the one he was trying to build at Wardenclyffe funded by JP Morgan. Morgan pulled the plug on that tower so it was never finished. The idea of the tower was to send electricity into a layer of the atmosphere where it could then be drawn down anywhere in the world. Free Wireless Electricity I guess you could say. Now we know he had similar towers that were NOT on the scale of Wardenclyffe that he built in Colorado (Did you see the movie The Prestige, when he could light the bulbs just by inserting them into the ground?) Perhaps, he had one at the top of his lab there in Downtown Manhattan, NYC. I can’t remember the building exactly, but I visited some Tesla sites in NYC last year.
Anyway, I say that so suggest that the car somehow taped into a source of electricity transmitted by a tower of some sort combined with the use of radiant energy.
We really don’t know! Tesla was such a mystery and probably one of the most brilliant scientists of all time. Too bad people rarely hear about his accomplishments.
My government did not enact the Law of Conservation of Energy. That was Nature. And your magic car is a hoax.
