The Founding Fathers were Christians and not liberals, they created the US Constitiution , liberals want to destroy it. Jesus said people must WORK FOR THEIR FOOD! Liberty is what the nation was founded on. You can’t be liberal without embracing that concept. Other places with more restrictive rules some of these people would not have been seen as great.

And I certainly wouldn’t call Gandhi a liberal. Even the 14th Dalai Lama is a feudalistic conservative in many ways, despite some sympathies with Marxism.

You also forgot Eisenhower MLK Reagan Lincoln Jefferson. Jesus taught so many conservative values it’s impossible to think he’s liberal. The founding fathers were “technically” liberal because there was not a republican party yet but most of them held conservative beliefs of a non oppresive government.
