Why doesn’t the world run on Tesla Coil Energy?

I saw a documentary about how Nikola Tesla, the inventor of the Tesla Coil found a way to have free energy worldwide by simply taking the energy that is already imbedded in the air. I remember them saying the energy comes from the Sun and there is so much of it on our Earth that it would be impossible to use it all up. Nikola Tesla’s idea was funded by a group of investors, but then shut down and completely forgotten. The investors realized that people would eventually catch on that the Energy was coming from the air in their homes and would then refuse to pay for free energy. This would result in no profits for the investors and therefore was shut down.

I don’t know if i have it all straightened out but that is what i understood. Correct me if I’m wrong.

So why don’t we use this technology? It was said that this energy is “clean” energy and would be completely safe for the environment since it comes from the Sun, unlike our means of electricity. So why?
I remember reading a quote something like this:
“Those who control oil, control cities.
Those who control Electricity, control continents.
Those who control Money, control the world.”

Don’t remember if those are the exact words.
You’re wrong. They have been created in small sizes. Nikola Tesla created an engine for a car that ran on a common car battery. The engine was made from his free energy idea and the car could run all day every day throughout the whole year with the energy all around us.

I want someone with knowledge about this topic, not an idiot named “Spider Boy” who considers his answer “Logic”.

If it worked we’d all have one. No one has one.
Therefore, it doesn’t work.
